Gordon Coull

The Gordon Coull Trophy

Gordon Coull was the man who originated the idea for West Moor Camera Club. He was the club's first chairman and created the club as a fortnighly meeting place for local like minded photographers to meet and chat about their passion.

Gordon continued as Chairman up to 2011 when illness started to restrict his mobility, however he continued in the background as the club's treasurer until he stepped down in 2019. Gordon died later that year.

In his memory, the current committee have decided to dedicate an annual competition to him. This competition is designed to find the most consistent photographer over the year and will run over 4 rounds, each of which will take place roughly every 3 months. Points will be accumulated over the 4 rounds, with the overall winner being the member who has the most points after the 4 rounds.

The 2020 competition will have all 4 rounds judged by the same person to ensure a level of consistency.

This year the judge will be Joe Sheridan F.D.A. BA(Hons) A.R.P.S.
