Hi All,
Derek gave a sort talk on long exposure tonight. The talk seems to bring a good discussion throughout with great tips and techniques being passed on.
LONG EXPOSURE
Long-exposure, time-exposure, or slow-shutter photography involves using a long-duration shutter speed to sharply capture the stationary elements of images while blurring, smearing, or obscuring the moving elements.
Things that have to be considered
Intention
Location
Platform
Lenses
Filters
Stability
Camera settings
Post Processing
The intention was to cover the above subjects regarding the ways to tackle going out
We also covered the alternative methods of utilising a camera phone and apps which can be purchased for as little as £1.99
An iPhone doesn’t support true long exposure photography (the shutter can’t stay open for a long period of time). However, clever app developers have found a way around this problem by digitally combining multiple exposures of the same scene to simulate long exposure photography.
It was good to hear members had been looking to attach images to the club Flickr discussion page.
I know there will be teething troubles please use Davids lift and shift to embed your images. Please bear with us we will assist as best we can to get the teething troubles sorted out.
Our intention weather permitting is still to go out on February 3rd, to hopefully capture some long exposure images I will confirm the proposed time and date with an e-mail to everyone.
Please keep togging and share what images you can!
Regards Secratary
